ACTIVITIES

In the ten years since its formation, ECCREDI has achieved significant status with the European Commission, preparing policy papers in response to Commission reports and winning the management of important European Projects:


1. E-CORE: European Construction Research Network under the 5th Framework Programme. (Contract G1RT-CT-2001-05035 - 1 October 2001 / 31 March 2005) - E-CORE Newsletter - E-CORE Strategy Document

2. TRA-EFCT: Targeted Research Action on Environmentally Friendly Construction Technologies under the 4th Framework Programme (Contract BRRT-CT97-5007 - 12 March 1997 till 31 December 2001);

3. ECCREDI organized more than 25 Conferences and workshops all over Europe;

4. ECCREDI succeeded in assembling 17 European organisations around a communication with the EC;

5. ECCREDI delivered comments and contributions to FP5, FP6 and to public consultations;

6. In the context of the communication on the competitiveness of the construction Industry Communication and its Action plan, DG Enterprise awarded a grant to ECCREDI for carrying out a study on innovation in the construction sector (contract SUB/98/1603 - 1 July 1998 / 31 March 1999);

7. ECCREDI also chaired the Working Group on Information and Communication Technologies that was set up by DG Enterprise to promote the use of ICT in the construction sector;

8. ECCREDI had been an active member in the Intersectoral Platform "City of the Future", which was established in April 1996 to assist dialogue between urban stakeholders for promoting the global and integrated approach as a means of creating effective solutions to complex urban problems. Activities of the ISP had been funded by EC DG XVII under THERMIE-Type B contracts (STR-1342-97 and STR-1705-98-EU);

9. ECCREDI initiated the discussions on the setting up of a Technology Platform for the Construction Sector.
